    Altenbochum lies approx two kilometres south-east of Bochum’s city centre, and is a very densely built residential and mixed use area, but which is nevertheless one of the most popular in Bochum. It enjoys excellent transport connections, as access to the eastern ring road (Sheffield-Ring) and bus and rail services can all be found nearby. The main railway station, with connections to Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund and surrounding towns and cities, is approximately 5 minutes away.
