The building is one of the few original historic ones in the street dating from the era around 1900. The apartment is located in a side wing of the house with access from the courtyard. It is split over two levels, Hochparterre (elevated ground floor) and Souterrain (basement with full windows). The two levels are connected by private stairs which received a wood finishing during remodelling.This will be the first use after significant renovations and refurbishment. Main elements currently in the making are lighting and window coverings/ curtains. These will be completed by the end of May. There is a kitchen/living room upstairs as well as a newly created bathroom with walk-in shower and third room on the upper level which could be used as an additional bedroom, lounge or office. The kitchen will be fully equipped and includes a standard oven, cooking field with fume hood and dishwasher. The fridge is new and large in size (70 cm wide). There is an extendable dining table with 6 chairs. The lounge/office offers a sofa bed (double) and a desk with a chair. The washing machine is housed beside the staircase in a dedicated cupboard. Downstairs is a larger bedroom of approximately 16 m² with a double bed and en-suite bathroom with bath tub. The smaller bedroom contains a bunk bed. There are excellent transport connections close by including a direct tram to Hauptbahnhof/ main station (M8; 13 minutes). The next metro station (Line U2; Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz) is only 150 meters away and is one station from Alexanderplatz, which can also be reached within 5 minutes by foot. Line 8 can also be reached by foot (station Weinmeisterstrasse). Both Tegel airport (various options with public transport) and Schönefeld airport (airport express trains from Alexanderplatz) are within easy reach. A very popular bakery (https://zeitfuerbrot.com/) and a convenience store are the two street-facing small businesses in the house. There is ample opportunity for shopping in the area including the famous whole food market around Kollwitzplatz, which is within walking distance (https://www.visitberlin.de/en/okomarkt-am-kollwitzplatz) and the many stores within and around Alexanderplatz. The house is ideally located for inner-city sightseeing.Pets are not permitted. Smoking within the apartment is not allowed. A resident parking permit is required for street parking.
